Governor Nyesom Wike Heads To Supreme Court after he was sacked by Appeal Court!

Nyesom Wike

The Abuja court of Appeal today upheld the ruling of the gubernatorial election petition tribunal in Rivers state. The court’s three-man panel led by Justice M.B. Dongban-Mensem agreed on the lead judgment upholding the decision of the tribunal sacking Wike. The court held that Wike’s election did not conform with the Electoral Act. A fresh election is to be conducted in the state within 90 days.

However, in a statement issued by Simeon Nwakaudu, Special Assistant to the Rivers State Governor on Electronic Media, Governor Wike stated that he disagrees with the judgment, hence his decision to exhaust his constitutional right by challenging the Appeal Court judgment at the Supreme Court.

Governor Wike called on all his supporters and the people of Rivers State to remain calm as Justice will be done at the end of day.
